Nancy Rakela received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1973 and graduated from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1985. She received her Doctorate of Oriental Medicine from Hong Kong's Postgraduate Institute of Oriental Medicine in 1988, after completing her internships in China and Japan. She also has a specialty certification in Acupuncture Orthopedics (a certificate held by less than 1% of acupuncturists), enabling her to provide specialized treatment of acute and chronic pain from both Chinese and Western perspectives. Nancy Rakela has been practicing in Berkeley since 1985.
